So, I was looking back through iPhoto for a pic for my new Twitter account, finally decided to give it a try, and I found this photo.  Jen and I are cracking up, it has to be one of our funniest pics.  You add the caption.

I am completely in love with my wife and I think she is awesome and I love spending time with her. But, I think this is a little overboard.

Man, this scripture gets me every time. “Truly, I say to you, as you did it to one of the least of these my brothers, you did it to me.” Matt 26:40 This has been a hectic week. I haven’t had much time to get any ‘work’ done because of meetings, set changes and preparing for our Venture out, which is a staff service project. I have resented being so busy this week on account of others. I know not very spiritual but it is the truth. Well, this morning I was reading in Matthew and came to this scripture and it stopped me in my tracks as I realized how unChrist-like my attitude was. We are going to help a children’s ministry that our church has a relationship with today and yes we are all really busy and yes it is costing us all a lot of work time, but this is what it is all about. Helping those who need help. What good is it if we create great services but never meet the physical needs that we see all around us? James 2:15 says “If a brother or sister is poorly clothed and lacking in daily food, and one of you says to them, ‘Go in peace, be warmed and filled,’ without giving them the things needed for the body, what good is that?” So here we go.

Well things are good. I’m enjoying School, especially my Evangelism 500 class. We are reading about past awakenings or revivals and it really interesting. It is encouraging to read about how God has moved in the past. It makes me hopeful for our future. My professor wrote a book we are reading called the 10 greatest revivals and he lists them and those involved in the following order:

1. The 1904 Revival, Beginning in Wales
Evan Roberts, Korea, Manchurian Revival, Azusa Street
2. The First Great Awakening, 1727-50
Zinzendorf, Wesley, Whitefield, Jonathan Edwards
3. The Second Great Awakening, 1780-1810
Cane Ridge
4. The General Awakening, 1830-40
Charles Finney, Hawaii, Jamaica
5. The Layman’s Prayer Revival, 1857-61
Phoebe Palmer, Lanphier, D. L. Moody
6. The World War 11 Revival, 1935-50
Billy Graham, Duncan Campbell, New Zealand
7. The Baby Boomer Revival, 1965-71
The Jesus People, The Prairie Revival, Asbury
8. The Pre-Reformation Revival, 1300-1500
Lollards, Wycliffe, Hus, Savonarola
9. The Protestant Reformation, 1517
Martin Luther, John Calvin, Zwingli, Knox
10. Pentecost: The Beginning of Revival, A.D. 30
Peter, Ephesus, Paul

If your bored research some of these its pretty cool.

I stumbled across this really funny Blog  It is complete politically incorrect but really funny.  If you enjoy laughing at satire go check it out but if you are easily offended probably not a good site for you.  Read down to the numbered posts.

So we had a treat today.  Someone worked it out so that we got to see a pre-release of the Ben Stein movie Expelled.   You really should see this movie when it comes out.  It was a very good  documentary and raised a lot of questions.  I knew  that  there are a lot of people who are hostile  towards the thought of Intelligent Design but I didn’t know what some people are going through because of it.  You need to watch this movie.

Easter has come and gone, nothing left to do but look back and reflect. Over all we had an awesome easter weekend. We had a ton of people at BBCC nearly 1200 more than last Easter. We had people everywhere. We ran out of seats in the 9 and the 11, which is never fun as the host. It was insane. People were literally anywhere they could find a place to stand and see a screen. I think we expected a big crowd but that was insane. We will definitely spend some time trying to think through next year to make sure we have seats for more people. We probably had at least 500 to 600 people standing or sitting on the floors at both the 9 and 11. Kristian rocked the worship, it was awesome. I am loving the song “True Love” by Phil Wickham. We played the first part of that song and then had baptisms with it playing low and then kicked back into it with the Jesus is alive chorus after the baptisms were over. We also did an invitation to receive Christ for the first time and had an overwhelming response probably between 150 and 200 people stood up. It was awesome. It was a great weekend and Jesus was definitely praised at our church. I do think there are some things we can improve upon but I am very proud to be a part of such an amazing team that did such an amazing job this weekend.

So far so good. Last night our Good Friday services ROCKED! We have some of the most amazing volunteers anywhere in the world. They come in and work hard and they own their jobs and do them with an excellence that baffles me. So impressive. I thought the night went really well we did some different things in the environment that really took people out of their routines of coming to church. It was Great. People really got the message of sacrifice and amazing love. Here is the graphic that Shove AKA captain Hulihee, made for the night.

We are also doing a few things for Easter, like having 3 service 9, 11 and 1PM we’ll see how that goes. Here is a video that I saw on Annie’s blog who by the way may be one of the funniest people around. We are playing this song Easter during Baptisms.

So I started Seminary this week and I am now reading like 14 books a week or something but I read something last night that was so basic but really stood out to me, “the truth cannot be altered by our feelings.”  Pretty straight forward and I don’t think too many people would challenge the validity of that statement but how often do I live in a way that puts more emphasis on my feelings than truth?  Just a thought.
